INDUSTRIAL INTERNSHIP
An industrial internship is prescribed in most courses of the FAN. The industrial internship should provide an introduction into industrial practises and make the assessment of the job market and opportunitites for a later professional career easier. The internship should contain a multi-faceted selection of activities in engineering and the natural sciences and provide insight into the industrial process workflow of Development, Preparation for Manufacturing and Production. Furthermore, understanding of operational environmental and social issues should be awakened. The chair cooperates with a number of industrial partners. For that reason, we provide assistance with contacts for an internship. The Interns' Office of the FAN is the point of contact for all questions about industrial internships. The chair offers a comprehensive lecture catalog for the various FAN courses.

In the era of global networking, international collaboration always means personal involvement in the world. Anyone, who completes a semester or an internship overseas during the course, will have better professional opportunities later. The chair collaborates with a number of international research institutes and companies. Opportunities for an internship or a semester are available around the world. Anyone, who is interested in a course, or plans to reside, overseas, should begin planning their preparations early. We are happy to advise you about the following issues:
-
Which country and which colleges are appropriate for the intended visit, based on my language skills?
-
What do I want to achieve technically during the course or residence overseas, and which colleges or companies are most suitable for that?
-
How can I finance my residence overseas (self-financing or stipend), and what are the prerequisites for applying for a stipend?
-
Do I want to apply to an overseas college or company through an exchange program or my own initiative?
The Academic Foreign Office in the central university administrative offices will provide advice about exchange programs, sponsorships and general questions.
