The Chair Manufacturing and Remanufacturing Technology, which has become part of the Fraunhofer Processinnovation project group since 2006, combines knowledge about product, production and remanufacturing into an innovate research opportunity with an orientation on interdisciplinary and international studies.

The Chair implements tailor-made service engineering and remanufacturing solutions that ensure the future supply of vehicle replacement parts through replacement parts suited to the current market value. Thereby, ecological and economical production processes are created. Technical schools in industrial dimensions are available for each step in the remanufacturing process.

The Fraunhofer Group supports production companies in the Eastern Bavarian area in all challenges in the fields of factory planning, manufacturing and assembly as well as supply chain distribution and logistics. The catalog of services reaches from the analysis of opportunities to practical implementation.

Significant increases in productivity and flexibility as well as cost savings in companies could be contributed to numerous industrial projects, both for large companies and, more importantly, small and medium-sized businesses. The project group provides a large catalog of services through the targeted combination of the Fraunhofer IPA skills in Stuttgart with those of the Chair at the University of Bayreuth.
