Intelligent value creation
Today, data is omnipresent across all industries. With the advance of digitization, the global data sphere has grown exponentially in recent years and today holds diverse potential for increasing value creation or conserving resources in manufacturing companies. Artificial intelligence and machine learning in particular are considered key technologies in this context, but the barriers to their use remain high. In addition to the quantity, the quality of the data also plays an essential role. Often, data is unstructured and has gaps. In most cases, exactly the data that is actually needed is missing!
For the closing of critical data gaps (smart data mining), the intelligent value creation by means of existing data sets as well as the efficient utilization of databased knowledge, the Chair Manufacturing and Remanufacturing Technology therefore offers innovative solutions and researches and develops new approaches in this exciting topic area. The goal is to generate usable knowledge content (lean data) from large, unstructured data sets (big data). For this purpose, the scientists of the LUP work closely and interdisciplinary with cooperation partners from science and industry.
